Our Construction Process:

Phase 1 - Site Consultation + Cost Estimate

  • After the initial point of contact, a free site consultation will be scheduled for a Landwell team member to assess the project site, review the landscape plans, and discuss the scope of work with the potential client.

  • Following the site consultation, an itemized cost estimate for construction will be created and presented to the potential client. We can assist with project phasing or revising the scope of work to meet budget requirements as needed. In that case, the cost estimate will be updated to reflect those changes.

  • Once a scope of work and associated cost is agreed upon, a construction proposal will be created to be reviewed and signed by the client. Once the contract is signed and the deposit payment is received, the project will be added to our construction crews’ schedule and an approximate start date will be set.

Phase 2 - Pre-Construction

  • The client will be contacted at least one week before the projected start date listed on the construction proposal, to confirm a specific start date and time for the crew. A pre-construction meeting with the client may be scheduled at that time as well.

  • The project manager will coordinate with any subcontractors and materials suppliers to ensure a smooth workflow during the construction project.

  • The project manager will ensure all relevant utilities are marked on site within the work area, and any required permits are acquired before the first day of construction.

Phase 3 - Construction

  • The assigned construction crew(s) will perform the scope of work outlined in the construction contract, maintaining a clean, safe and organized job site throughout the duration of the project.

  • The general progression of the construction project will follow the phases of work outlined in the payment schedule portion of the construction proposal, and the payments will be due accordingly.

  • The project manager will be the client’s main point of contact throughout the construction process, and his/her contact information will be provided to the client for use if any questions, concerns, or issues arise during the project.

Phase 4 - Post-Construction

  • The project manager will conduct a walk-through with the client to ensure the client’s satisfaction with the completed work before the final payment is collected.

  • A 30 day post-construction follow up and site assessment will be conducted by a Landwell team member.

  • With client permission, the project may be photographed and used in Landwell Design + Build Co.’s portfolio, on the company website, in social media posts, marketing materials, etc.
